The FabuLingua app is a platform of Comprehensible Input designed to be compelling to children. Our interactive stories are set in a beautiful mobile game. We use our patented and award-winning methodology to turn children’s stories and gameplay into vast amounts of comprehensible input for kids.
The outcome? We teach your child a new language in a way that feels like a game rather than a lesson (we call it ‘Invisible Learning’).
Our app engages children on multiple sensory levels, meaning that they see, read, listen and speak in the language they are learning (as well as actively engage the sense of touch!) so that they can more easily progress through the language acquisition process.

This app is a valuable tool that introduces children (and parents and tutors!) to the world of Spanish language and reading. The children’s stories are presented in a creative way, where each one has various learning approaches: visual, tactile, auditory (of vocabulary words and phrases), helping them learn the correct pronunciation of the sounds as well as assimilate concepts.

Curious about the Science behind FabuLingua?
There are countless benefits to learning a second language! These include include improved brain development, improved social-emotional skills and cultural awareness, as well as additional job opportunities for bilingual speakers when they become adults!
#1: You can choose to use the best practice approach. The science of second language acquisition has made it clear that the single most important element when acquiring a second language is Comprehensible Input. Teaching according to “CI” is unquestionably the best practice in language teaching. However, in a lot of classrooms, the traditional method of teaching is still followed. Oftentimes teachers still teach through output-based ‘drill and kill’ memorization techniques that research has shown are very ineffective for language acquisition. When you teach your child at home, you can choose to have a CI-based approach which will result in much more effective learning for your child!
#2: At home, you can access your digital learning solution any time. As we know, it’s all about the amount of CI, so the more often they get that CI, the more of the language your child will learn. At home you can structure things so there is daily CI in your child’s life, and they can meaningfully learn more Spanish!
#3: At home you don’t have to have the anxiety of learning in front of class mates. Anxiety is very detrimental to language learning, actually sabotages the language acquisition process. Now that you know how important it is that language learning be fun and compelling, at home you can choose to use tools that are fun, compelling and super engaging!
#4: Parent can respect the silent period: Often times in schools, teachers are under pressure to ‘demonstrate results’ and start requesting original output too soon, sabotaging the language acquisition process because they are being to ‘output’ focused. At home, you can choose to be patient and respect the child’s silent period.
#5: The parent can choose to teach through reading and storytelling, which is so powerful

My 9 year old daughter has no prior Spanish experience, and she has already learned so much! There are so many layers of engagement written into this program that seem to approach all different types of ages and learners. The lessons are well-paced, and children of a variety of ages have opportunities to uncover more sophistication in all of the embedded vocabulary and usage hidden through the program. There are some games to check on your child’s overall comprehension in each lesson. And my daughter really enjoys the feature where she can practice her oral skills and record herself reading the stories in small chunks following the narrator. The story narrator has a clear voice with a lovely pronunciation that seems to inspire my daughter to perfect her accent. The stories are very sweet with great illustrations and animations, and my daughter often laughs out loud at some of the characters and occurrences in the stories as she is learning. I highly recommend this educational app for children in a wide age range. This would also be a fantastic app for homeschoolers looking to incorporate Spanish into their curriculum.
